Artist Statement

As an evolving and learning artist, my personal style and thematic direction has changed in waves over the decade, but for the last couple years I’ve focused my energy in creating work that relates to my sexuality, physical, and mental state of being. My works have related to my health, the idea of synthetics and fabrication, nostalgia, and hunger. Sometimes the pieces I create are purely for visual pleasure, and other works deal with a more social and political narrative.

My goal as a creator has always been to use vibrancy and entertainment to explore and convey my artistic vision. Using video software and photo editing, installations and illustration, I've found a means of creating the world that I want to see, while also exposing and critiquing our current society and its shortcomings. The success of my pieces stem from the transportation into a different realm of being, of feeling, and of self reflecting. Making people question and contemplate is the most powerful way of leaving an impact, because then the artwork is able to follow the viewer beyond the space that it's being shown.
